Hello, my name is Blanca Santander!

I was born and raised in Lima, Perú, and have resided in Seattle, WA since 1996. My love for art began as a child, and has evolved over time with images and colors gleaned from my life in Perú, coupled with my feelings and my dreams, which act as my primary source of artistic inspiration. The coast of old Colonial Lima offered me more than 450 years of history, combined with endless deserts, the majestic Andes, and the eternal land of the Incas, which greatly impacted me and influenced my work over the years. The Amazon provided me with legends and crystal-clear lakes with abundant vegetation and wild life, among the most varied and unforgettable in the world.

Meditation, Dreams, & Spirituality are the primary expressions of my work: Over the years, meditation has allowed me to harness external energy. I believe love to be the most meaningful and powerful energy, something of which, we sorely lack in this world. Many of my childhood memories center around my dreams, in which women with brightly colored hair floated through the air, and planets orbited in close proximity to me. I have evolved spiritually as a result of my years of meditation, which often coexists with my dreams, creating my circle of life.

My belief in humanity and my dreams have molded me, and my art, into expressions of hope and love.
